I haven't written in so long. I even lost my journal for a while there! Luckily Rufus brought it to me. I hadn't even realized it was missing until he suddenly came flying down the hall carrying it in his feet! I wonder where I left it, that he would find it outside of Slytherin....

When I went back to check where I normally keep my journal, I noticed two other things were missing from my dorm; Belladonna and Rue! I wonder where they went. Both are usually around the dorm somewhere, but they never came home last night. Perhaps they went out together.

If anyone sees a dark-haired roommate or a dark-furred spider, could you please let me know so I can find them? Grazi!

Rue is worrying me. First she makes a lot of confusing comments, and now she's nowhere in the dorm. I haven't seen her in at least a day! I'm getting concerned; perhaps she's been hexed!

We got back from a week in Napoli yesterday. I always enjoy Napoli; the nearness of the water, the beautiful countryside, not at all like the city here. Rufus likes it there too; there's plenty of space for him to go flying at night. He spent every night out flying the last week, he was so bored after being cooped up in Tangier. I feel bad about having to keep him trapped up inside the house here. At least the corridors are long and wide, so he can fly through the halls at night. That should give him exercise at least.

Oh, and when I got back here, the house elves told mi Zia that my OWL results had arrived several weeks ago. We've been in Tangier so long we didn't realize!

Mi Zia and Zio were really proud of me. I was disappointed that I failed Muggle Studies, but they said it didn't really matter, that it wasn't an important subject. I'm still sad though; this means I won't be able to take NEWT level Muggle Studies. Oh well; I can always repeat the OWL level class!

I've also signed up for a class in Muggle Religion. Perhaps I should not tell them that about that one....

I guess this means I should buy the 5th year book, An Idiot's Guide to Muggles and their Ways by Gloria Stratum. I don't really like having a book call me an idiot...

Hey! That also means I'll be taking classes with the 5th years, which means I'll be in the same class as Drizzt! That will be fun! Maybe this won't be so bad after all....

It's beautiful here in Tangier, but I'm getting tired of the constant heat. It's nice to go swimming, though, even if the local men hissing is bothersome. They hiss at Zakuro, too, but only at the pool; when she's dressed in her normal outfit, I don't think they realize she's a girl. I don't know why; she is very developed for her age, almost more than me. Maybe it's because she's so tall....

Rufus is cranky. He doesn't like being kept inside. Looking back, I probably should have left him with the house staff back in Napoli. Perhaps I could send him back there sometime during the night... I wonder how far it is back to Napoli. I never pay attention during travel.

I've gotten some great gifts for my friend back at school! I think everyone's going to really like them! Morocco has some of the most beautiful cloth things. I bought a couple long skirts for me to wear in public, since I'm not allowed to wear my mini-skirts here. I snuck out of the hotel once in one last year, and some boys started throwing rocks at me. Then I hit one of them with Excaliborg, and then there was a huge to-do with the Muggle authorities; lo Zio had to talk to a bunch of people about it, eventually they let me go 'cause they couldn't prove anything. But now I'm not allowed to leave the hotel without an escort and a long skirt.

I can't wait to go back to school, or at least back to Napoli. I even want to seen Milan again; I got an owl from Zanzu, he's in Milan again! Apparently he's working with some Muggle arts industry, very chic. He says he can get me a job, if I can provide some sort of ID stating that I'm 17. That would be fun!


Oh, and one of the boys staying in the hotel is from Japan; his family had some interesting traditions involving the beach and watermelon. I like watermelon, so I was happy to participate! Look, he took my picture!

He was really nice. It's too bad about him getting a bloody nose and having to run off. Maybe he has one of those bleeding diseases. I hope he's ok.

It is so good to be home! I've been so busy spending time with Zakuro and family and the staff, I'd forgotten to write in this in forever! Zakuro told us all about Durmstrang, and her classmates and teachers. It sounds interesting, but not as fun as Hogwarts. Plus if I went to Durmstrang, I'd have to speak German, and that's no fun. It's such a mean sounding language. Not when Zakuro speaks it, of course, but from everyone else. I'm glad I don't have to speak it.

Milan is still the same. It's still sticky and hot and crowded in the streets. Muggles still walk close to the back of the Palazzo, though the gates prevent them from coming close to the front. Now when I watch them, though, I feel like I understand them more. I know what those boxes they talk into are, and why they have string in their ears.

Zakuro wonders why I still watch them. She says she thought the fascination would wear off when I understood them better. But now I just find them more interesting! I wonder what music they're listening to on their strings, or who they're talking to on their boxes. I want to get a box so I can talk with them!

Of course I don't tell Zakuro that. She might tell mi Zio, and then I would be in big trouble.

And Fujin is coming to visit! I'm very excited; it can get very boring here in the Palazzo. Even after studying and playing games with the house elves, eventually there's nothing left to do. It'll be nice to have someone to spend time with again.

We'll be going to Napoli in about a week! I can't wait; Napoli is so much prettier than Milan. I know Rufus will enjoy it too; I don't like to let him out to fly around Milan all that often. There are other owls in Milan, of course, especially in the cathedrals, but most of them are much smaller than Rufus, so he tends to draw attention in the city. In Napoli he'll be able to fly by the sea at night, where no one will see him, and he can play and hide among the cliffs. I know he'll like that.

I wonder if Mama and Papa will stop by for a visit soon. They said they'd come by soon after the end of the school year, but so far they haven't had time. It'd be nice for them to get to meet Fujin! I just hope they don't ask about her lineage....

So this is Muggle music. I've heard of people finding Muggle music offensive, but this is rather catchy. How could someone be offended by this?

It seems to put a lot of emphasis on dance. Is dancing important in Muggle culture? Is it some sort of form of communication, like when some animals dance?

I've always liked dancing! We should dance! There's not enough dancing around here.

There was a strange cat in the common room earlier. Some people were playing tag with it, it seems, because they all kept running all over the place. It highly upset Rufus; I had to put him in my dorm so he could calm down. It upset Belladonna too; she still won't come out from under my shirt. I don't think she likes cats; she didn't like me too much when I was one, either.

My ears and tail are gone, and I managed to get back to my dorm to get a pair of my own clothes, so everything seems to be back to normal! I didn't know what to do with the clothes I'd found, so I owled them to a Wizarding homeless shelter. They weren't particularly nice, but I'm sure they'll find some use for them!

But now Fujin seems to have suffered some kind of memory loss. How will we ever manage to find the perpetrator who took our clothes if she doesn't even remember it happening?

...Maybe now is the time to practice some of those old memory-enhancing charms we learned as kids....

Wow. That's the fastest I've ever received an owl from Mama and Papa.

They're very upset. Apparently the mention of the name "Voldemort" in the recent arrest has upset them greatly. Apparently he's associated with the group I'm supposed to be investigating. The fact that a Professor from school was arrested reaffirmed their beliefs about the group trying to brainwash students. Maybe they're right.

They're very disappointed in me. I haven't even sent in a report yet. I've been saying there was nothing to report, but now they don't believe me. Zakuro's been sending regular reports, and since no professors from Durmstrung were arrested, they feel that's proof that she's made a significant difference there.

Besides, I fixed the wall again, so no harm done, right? Now that I know how to get there, I will never be late again! Of course, I'll have to keep making new holes....

I like this school! My second day, and already I've made some interesting friends! I met a guy who looks like a troll! And a really nice girl, but she seems to be mad at me. I'm not sure why; I said I was sorry.

This weekend should be fun, and Monday I start classes! I can't wait to see what everyone is studying.
